I want golearnphp.com to be a useful resource, and to be an essential daily tool for anyone developing in PHP.

In addition to the existing beginner tutorial (‘first steps’), I’m launching an epic series of more advanced tutorials where we create an entire web application in the Yii Framework one session at a time. I’m not sure exactly yet, but I think this series will be 20-30 sessions long. The source code will be available under the GPL when finished.

Also keep an eye out for the Tips and Guides posts. These cover anything PHP-related, and are just as short or long as they need to be useful. Here is a recent one: Filtering text for use in URLs.

I’m also writing feature posts where I go into some detail about a particular PHP feature or related technology and offer tips. Watch this space.

Lastly, this site is all about being as awesome and useful as possible. If you have any feedback or suggestions, get in touch via the contact form or one of the social media sites below. I work hard to make this site work for you, so any support in the way of social media likes and so on is appreciated. If you like or favorite this site on any social sites let me know so I can thank you. Cheers!

I run a small web development company. I’ve been writing PHP since 2000, and HTML since 1996. I have a passion for the Mac OS and technical writing and in addition to golearnphp.com run the Mac-focussed blog leftcolumn.net.

I’m sociable. Connect with me on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus.
